Valued and loved Valued and loved
A few days late but here we are celebrating Midwiv A few days late but here we are celebrating Midwives Day together. This is us!
We weather storms, laugh together, stress together and cry together. We have a strange sense of humor and language that is pretty unique to this sisterhood. We look on in awe of the strength of a woman and the miracle of birth. We keep humble, knowing, we are only there mostly to just support and gently guide where needed.
It’s called ‘sisterhood’ and it’s a unique bond where completely different personalities, ages and stages join as one in that birth room as we work together for that right of passage: BIRTH. It is a bond like no other.
I’m honored to call you all my sisters. That includes my sister from the past too: Margot, Lynn, Cornél, Catherine, Christine, Hannah, Esti, Christel…….. big footsteps left in my heart. (And those I haven’t mentioned too)
Janice Rocking Midwifery: 1st photo was of Janice Janice Rocking Midwifery: 1st photo was of Janice after her very first birth with us at Midwives Exclusive. Last photo was of Janice’s last ‘official’ birth with us last night. This absolutely perfect squishy weighing in at 3.75kg and safely in the arms of a tired but very happy mom and dad. Janice joined our practice in October and we knew it was only a short union we’d have as she was heading for other pastures. Janice has been a ray of hope and sunshine to us all as her energy and quick wit has just been perfect balm for rainy days. Janice, you’ve touched our lives, made your mark on not only Midwives Exc family but also the 21 moms whose baby’s you assisted to birth and give them the best memories to take away with them. She’s also been back up midwife at over 40 births. It’s been such a super journey that I’m very sad see come to an end. You just buck up and get on with it! Love that about you girl. Wherever life takes you, don’t forget your heart of a Midwife. It’s a calling you cannot deny and after watching you in action, I don’t think you should.
This beautiful bouncing baby boy surprised not onl This beautiful bouncing baby boy surprised not only mom & dad, but midwife too! He arrived at an amazing weight of 4,735kg, smashing Guinevé’s record of biggest squishy for a natural birth!
